New Affinity Credit Union Model
The new Affinity Credit Union will adopt the governance model formerly created by FirstSask Credit Union, a model that is unique in Saskatchewan.
Each branch will become part of a District. There will be nine Districts including 8 geographic Districts and one First Nations District.
The District model supports growth and sustainability for communities. It ensures that the opinions of the each member are heard in their local communities and that the credit union remains connected to its grass roots.
At inception, the existing Districts will continue and form a 25-person Board. After a year of operations, the first round of director elections will reduce the Board to 19 members.
